The plot ! quite illogical, weak and shallow. Every redemption-based story revolves around a central character that is looking for absolution of his past sins. Such a huge transformation from an utterly bad person to the one who risks his life for a stranger, must go through phases. It can’t be like switching the button off/on, nor it can be a whimsical decision. This movie lacks all these essential stages that the protagonist must go through before total metamorphosis. Although Richard Beattie and Keoni Waxman have tried to show us glimpses of the events that led to this life-changing decision but such flashbacks end up as irritants, rather than helping us to peep into the internal mechanism of Steven Seagal mind.
Fight scenes are quite ordinary where our hero seems to have supernatural powers to fight out the gangsters within moments. Everything is predictable while the characters are pre-defined and lack dynamism. Performance also lacks any spark that may make up for other flaws in the film. Most of the time, we watch artificiality in delivering dialogues, faces showing no sings of those emotions that the tongue is trying to utter. As a whole this is an average movie that will surely fail to extract positive response from the viewers.
